Italian toolmaker Euro Stampi (Jesi; www.eurostampisrl.com/en) has acquired one of the largest injection moulding machines in the country. The “KX 4800/9000” made by compatriot BMB (Brescia; www.bmb-spa.com) has a clamping force of 48,000 kN. Euro Stampi will use the machine to test moulds with a weight of up to 120 t and to manufacture products weighing up to 40 kg. Equipped with a robot for fully automatic operations, the unit will be used for internal tool sampling and contract manufacturing.

The investment is linked to the construction of a second hall in the immediate vicinity of the company’s headquarters, where the new large-scale plant will be operated together with four existing injection moulding machines with clamping forces ranging from 7,500 to 35,000 kN. “The new site will allow us to separate toolmaking from our testing and moulding activity, which were until now in the same factory,” says Maurizio Foroni, sales and project manager at Euro Stampi. “At the existing site, we can use the freed space to expand mould making by 50% to 3,000 m²,” The company expects the separation to be completed by mid-2021.

Euro Stampi specialises in the design and manufacture of medium and large injection moulds for pallets, waste containers and large containers. The company’s 80 employees most recently generated an annual turnover of EUR 18m.
