ECOPLAST (A)
Quality granules of polyolefins / 20,000 t/y capacity / 60% exports from Austria
One of the biggest plastics recycling companies in Austria is Ecoplast Kunststoffrecycling GmbH (Untere Aue 21, A-8410 Wilden). Since May 1998, the company has a total capacity of 20,000 t/y, giving it a share of 27% of Austria´s total recycling capacity. Ecoplast is specialised in the recycling of used PE and PP products, i.e. film, pipes and blow-mouldings from industrial and household waste. Ecoplast uses a complex recycling process – for example, float/sink processes and hydrocyclones are used to separate the materials – to turn the used polyolefins into regrind product, some of which is pigmented and supplemented with additives. About half the company´s production is exported. Ecoplast was the first Austrian company to receive the quality symbol for quality recyclate, and it is also certified to DIN EN ISO 9002.
