Packaging manufacturer DS Smith (London / UK; www.dssmith.com) opened an "Impact Centre" at its plant in Torrejón de Ardoz / Spain, near Madrid on 13 November 2017 (see Plasteurope.com of 04.08.2017). The centre services customers in Spain and Portugal, and provides a practical environment.

Covadonga Serrano, marketing manager at DS Smith Spain, says, "The opening of this Impact Centre is a significant milestone for the Iberian region, as we now have the facilities to showcase the true power of packaging to our customers in a physical, engaging environment." The Iberian centre comprises a complete retail store, and customers can be taken through the supply cycle, from design, packing, storage, distribution to the final retail stage. DS Smith says its broader business strategy is to help customers find new ways to increase sales and reduce costs through smart packaging design.
