Italian group acquires Prokuwa Kunststoff / Rescue of insolvent specialist for plastic panels
PC panels producer dott.Gallina (Turin / Italy; www.gallina.it) has acquired the insolvent Prokuwa Kunststoff (Dortmund / Germany; www.prokulit.de) for an undisclosed amount. According to insolvency administrator Markus Birkmann of German law firm BBL (Dortmund; www.bbl-law.de), the agreement was signed on 19 February 2018. All 29 employees of the manufacturer of PVC and PC façade systems were taken over. Prokuwa had filed for insolvency in October 2017.

"We have been able to attract an outstanding and suitable investor with Gallina," says Birkmann. "The new location in Dortmund means a strategic and promising entry for Gallina into the German market."

The dott.Gallina group manufactures plastic profiles for the construction and automotive industries, in particular solid sheets, multi-wall sheets and glazing panels made of transparent plastics such as polycarbonate. Apart from its main plant in Turin, the group has production facilities in Greece, Turkey, India and the US.
