Dutch plant pots manufacturer acquires horticultural activities from Sky-Light
Plant pots manufacturer Desch Plantpak (Waalwijk / The Netherlands; www.desch-plantpak.com) is expanding its activities with the takeover of Sky-Light (Varde / Denmark; www.sky-light.dk), a manufacturer of plastic packaging and sheet for thermoforming. The Dutch company announced it had reached an agreement to acquire Sky-Light's assets.

CEO Jan Willem Wieringa said the transaction will extend the company's product portfolio. Desch Plantpak manufactures flower pots, seed boxes and shipping pallets made from recycled materials. The company operates three facilities in the Netherlands, in Waalwijk, Beuningen and Ter Aar, and one in Mundon / UK.

Headquartered in western Denmark, Sky-Light plans to focus more on its food and industrial packaging business, according to company head Søren Kjær Larsen. The company annually produces 20,000 t of rigid film and 650m plastic parts, with 140 employees. It already expanded its activities in the past year, when it acquired packaging manufacturer Formpac (Kungälv / Sweden; www.formpac.se).
