Thermoformed packaging specialist Deltaform (Bridgwater, Somerset / UK; www.deltaform.co.uk) has bought Chiltern Thermoforming (Aylesbury / UK; www.chiltern-thermo.co.uk) out of administration for an undisclosed sum. A food packaging business with a turnover of GBP 7m (EUR 8.3m), Chiltern had been placed in administration on 2 June 2009. All 60 of its staff are being retained and it will operate from its existing site as a wholly owned subsidiary of Deltaform.
Formed in 1992, Deltaform operates from three sites in Bridgwater with a staff of over 200. Most of its products are used for packaging of bakery, produce, meat and confectionery. It recently opened a 4,000 m² distribution centre, taking its total operation to more than 9,000 m². The Chiltern acquisition lifts turnover to around GBP 27m.
