COSSA POLIMERI
New PA/ABS blends for thin-walled automotive parts
Italian compounder Cossa Polimeri (Gorla Maggiore; www.cossapolimeri.it) has introduced a new range of quick flowing PA/ABS blends for automotive applications. The grades – sold under the “Establend PA” trade mark – are available both reinforced and unreinforced. The company said the materials enable the production of thin-walled parts at shorter cycle times, while ensuring excellent surface quality. As such, the new unreinforced “Establend PA 6000” boasts a melt flow rate (MFR) of 50 with a heat resistance temperature (vicat) of 123° C, whereas “Establend PA 4016 GF” – which is 8% glassfibre-reinforced – has a MFR of 40 and a vicat of 135° C.

The family-owned Italian compounder last posted sales of EUR 60m, with overall capacity for 40,000 t/y. Key customers include the automotive and household goods sectors.
