Largest Indian exporter of BOPP films starts new CPP and metallised films production in Gujarat
Indian BOPP films manufacturer Cosmo Films (New Delhi; www.cosmofilms.com) said it has commissioned its second cast PP (CPP) line and fourth metalliser, each with a 7,500 t/y capacity. The new lines bring the company’s CPP films capacity at its Karjan site near Vadodara, Gujarat / India to 9,300 t/y and its metallised films capacity to 22,500 t/y.
Cosmo Films said the 2.85 metre CPP line is five-layered and designed to produce speciality films, especially barrier films, for various packaging applications. The new 2.85 metre metalliser is equipped with an advanced control monitoring system and a closed loop auto deposition control system.
CEO Pankaj Poddar said there “has been a dearth of organised CPP players in the market and with the expansion of our capacity, we shall be better suited to serve our customers. The new lines are also expected to help increase the overall margins and volumes to some extent.” Cosmo manufactures CPP, BOPP and BOPET films, and is considered the largest Indian exporter of BOPP films.
