Review of Danapak shareholding structure / Earnings "not optimal"
Constantia Packaging (Vienna / Austria; www.constantiapackaging.com) and Scandinavian dairy Arla Foods, partners for five years in the 60:40 joint venture Danapak Flexibles (Slagelse / Denmark; www.danapakflex.com), are "examining all options" for a possible revision of the jv's shareholding structure, the companies said in an ad-hoc statement.
As yet, there are no indications as to whether either of the partners plans to exit the company or reduce its shareholding. A Constantia spokeswoman told Plasteurope.com that the result is still open. However, she said the joint venture's earnings situation is "not optimal."
With 450 employees at four locations in Denmark and the UK, Danapak manufactures flexible packaging products for the dairy, food and pharmaceutical industries. The company reported sales of EUR 70m and operating profit of EUR 1.8m for 2005. Results for 2006 have not been released.
