The first "Compounding World Expo" and "Plastics Recycling World Exhibition" took place from 27-28 June 2018 in Essen / Germany. With 184 exhibitors and 4,024 visitors, the event's organiser Applied Market Information (AMI, Bristol / UK; www.amiplastics.com) is celebrating the debut of the two trade fairs that ran in parallel. Around 42% of the visitors came from Germany, 50% were from the rest of Europe and 8% from other continents.

The organiser says feedback from exhibitors and visitors was extremely positive, and the concurrent events were well supported by the international plastics recycling and compounding industries. The next event, and first US edition, will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, from 8-9 May 2019. In the following year, the Compounding World Expo and Plastics Recycling World Exhibition will return to Messe Essen from 17-18 June 2020.
