Healthcare and pharmaceutical portfolio expanded
In the latest move to upgrade its portfolio in terms of both products and geographic spread, flexible and specialist packaging producer Clondalkin Group (Dublin / Ireland; www.clondalkin-group.com) at the beginning of this year completed the acquisition of Puerto Rico-based pharmaceutical inserts and labels manufacturer Lehigh Press.
This brings the group’s PS 9000:2000 accredited European sites up to eight: UK-based Ditone Labels and Harlands Labels, Pharmagraphics Guy, Ireland-based Kenilworth Products and Cahill Printers, Cartonplex in Spain as well as Boxes Prestige Poland and Harlands Labels Poland.
The group is still on the lookout for more investments. David Lennon, who heads Clondalkin’s Packaging division, said that, “We are continuously assessing opportunities to expand our global presence in line with out stated intentions of becoming the market leader in the supply of secondary packaging to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.”
Clondalkin said the pharmaceutical and healthcare division accounts for about EUR 200m of total group annual sales of EUR 800m.
