UK recycler to build 10 plastic waste-to-feedstock plants

UK recycling group Clean Planet Energy (CPE, London; www.cleanplanetenergy.com) has signed a joint venture deal with London-based private equity group Crossroads Real Estate (www.crossroadsre.eu) to help fund the first of 10 “plastic waste into feedstock” facilities called ecoPlants.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the two firms said in a statement that the funding agreement could lead to more than GBP 400 mn (EUR 462 mn) of UK investment for construction of the facilities.

The reclaim firm said sites in Lincolnshire, Gloucestershire, Lancashire, and South Wales had been identified to potentially lead the 10-site rollout, “with further locations and announcements to be made in the months ahead”.
