Launch of PFAS-free line of additives for polyolefin film extrusion
Speciality chemicals group Clariant (Muttenz, Switzerland; www.clariant.com) launched its AddWorks PPA line of additives, which it claims is per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)-free, at the recent NPE 2024 trade fair in Orlando, Florida.

The product range, designed for the polyolefin film extrusion market, offers smooth and stable processability with high optical film qualities, such as haze, gloss, and clarity, which eliminates sharkskin and dye build-up effects, Clariant said. The film’s tensile, mechanical, and sealing properties are unaffected by the new compositions. The solutions exhibit high thermal stability and low or no migration, and low let down ratios (LDRs), which ensures competitive cost-in use, the company added.

Clariant also launched AddWorks PKG 158, an antioxidant solution with colour protection, designed for polyolefins containing recycled material, besides introducing Licolub PED 1316, an oxidized HDPE wax for easier processing and better surface properties in building and construction, suited to internal and external use in PVC processing.
