Trade fair wrapped up with record-breaking attendance

This year’s Chinaplas trade fair, which took place in Shenzhen, Guangdong, concluded on 18 April with a record 281,206 visitors over four days – that’s an increase of around 13% compared with its 2023 edition. Overseas attendance surged by about 140%, with 68,542 visitors from abroad, a number that includes Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

The show solidified its reputation as a premier platform for industry sourcing and innovation. Exhibitors and buyers sealed numerous trade deals across the exhibition halls, highlighting strong global interest in advanced materials, circular economy solutions, and smart manufacturing technologies.
As reported by organiser Adsale (Hong Kong; www.adsale.com.hk), a standout feature this year was AI: Shining Your Dream, an interactive experience that immersed attendees in AI applications for plastics production. Meanwhile, Chinaplas Live continued to reach a global audience through live-streamed sessions and exclusive content.

Key industry discussions were front and centre at several major forums, including the sixth Chinaplas x CPRJ Plastics Recycling & Circular Economy Conference, which hosted over 800 delegates and 60 speakers from across the globe. The Sustainable Plastic Packaging Forum brought together experts to explore sustainable materials and design challenges.
The event also featured the Tech Talk showcase with over 40 innovations in areas such as 3D printing and lightweighting, and the innoGreen Hub, which focused on green, smart manufacturing. The new SportsTech Chic + Green area debuted technologies for sustainable sportswear production.
Live recycling demonstrations illustrated full-circle applications for PET and polyethylene, while the Product Innovation Gallery, SciXplore, and Applications in Focus forums delivered insights into future trends and R&D.
New initiatives like the VIP Factory Tour enabled attendees to visit factories and have direct exchanges with technical executives on the factory floors – a clear reflection of the event’s commitment to industry collaboration.
Chinaplas is set to return to Shanghai in April 2026.
