ChemPoint, the web-based division of distribution company Univar (Redmond, Washington / USA; www.univar.com), has agreed to distribute Corbion’s (Lenexa, Kansas / USA; www.corbion.com) “Pationic” glycerol esters and lactylates in Canada, as well as provide technical assistance and support to customers. The agreement became effective on 1 October.

“Expanding our relationship with Corbion is a great opportunity for us to jointly provide greater support to the compounder market across North America,” said Rick Hoener, ChemPoint’s North American sales director.

ChemPoint said “Pationic” glycerol esters and lactylates are available in various forms with a high degree of compatibility with polymer production requirements. They can function as lubricants, dispersants, processing aids and acid/catalyst neutralisers, as well as imparting antistatic, antifogging and mould release properties.

“Corbion has enjoyed a distribution relationship with ChemPoint for our 'Pationic' products in the United States over the past several years, during which time we have seen significant growth,” said Mark Concannon, Corbion’s vice president biochemicals sales.

The two companies have worked together for more than eight years to supply speciality and bio-based products. ChemPoint also provides support for other Corbion polymer and bakery industry products throughout the USA and Mexico.
