CECIMO
3D printing webinar on 2 July / Supply chain disruptions caused by Covid-19 and new opportunities
Europe’s association of the machine tool industries Cecimo (Brussels / Belgium; www.cecimo.eu) is holding a webinar on “Additive Manufacturing: An opportunity to fill the gaps in traditional supply chains” on 2 July 2020 at 11:00-12:10 CET. Cecimo notes that the coronavirus outbreak caused severe shortages of essential medical equipment across Europe, and 3D printing provided a solution to the demand during this time.

The webinar is to focus on fast deployment of additive manufacturing solutions for strategic sectors. Cecimo says it is “fundamental to invest in the deployment of these new technologies and new solutions.” The speakers – who will discuss supply chain disruptions caused by the pandemic and new opportunities for the industry, society and the environment – include:
  • Stewart Lane, corporate manager at Renishaw and chairman of Cecimo’s additive manufacturing committee
  • Lorena Ionita, deputy head of Unit, Industrial Strategy and Innovation, DG Grow at the European Commission
  • Fabio Annunziata, global head of strategy and business planning, 3D printing and digital manufacturing at HP
  • Bernhard Mueller, spokesman of the “Fraunhofer Additive Manufacturing Alliance”
  • Vincent Wegener, co-founder and managing director at Ramlab
