US firm boosts UK additive output

The plastics additives business of US agricultural giant Cargill (Minneapolis, Minnesota; said it has expanded production of amides at its Hull, UK, site by installing a new, larger reactor and improving the infrastructure. The company provided no details on capacity.

The Hull plant makes amide-based slip, anti-block and anti-mould release additives under the brands Crodamide, Incroslip, and IncroMold.

The US giant last year bought large parts of UK-based speciality chemical manufacturer Croda (Snaith;, including the firm’s plastic additives operations.
