Launch of Replasblak circular black masterbatches
US carbon black producer Cabot (Boston, Massachusetts; www.cabotcorp.com) has launched is Replasblak product family of circular black masterbatches. The new line is made from the company’s Evolve Sustainable Solutions platform of ISCC Plus certified material.

Cabot said the new Replasblak product family consists of three grades, all suited for compounding, recycling, injection moulding, and sheet extrusion applications relevant to the automotive segment.

The rePE5475 grade is a fully circular black masterbatch using material made from reclaimed carbons from end-of-life tires pyrolysis and mechanically recycled polyethylene. It delivers 60% greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction compared to an incumbent material.
Containing 70% ISCC Plus certified material, the rePE5265 grade reduces GHG emissions by nearly 50% and delivers high gloss and jet pigmentation in thermoplastics, Cabot said.
The third grade in the new line, rePE5250, reduces GHG emissions by 50% compared to standard masterbatch while delivering high tint strength, the company said.
