BRITISH VITA
Snapping up Holts Blends / Product fit with existing vinyl and PVC businesses
Through its Vita Thermoplastic Compounds subsidiary, which has an estimated 100,000 tonnes of capacity, British Vita plc (Middleton, GB-Manchester M24 2DB) has bought the business and assets of Holts Blends Ltd (Altrincham, GB-Cheshire WA14 5EJ) from Heywood Williams (Macclesfield, GB-Cheshire SK10 2NG). Holts Blends is a market leader in production of clear PVC bottle compounds and also holds significant shares for PVC extrusion and injection moulding compounds. Vita says it is an excellent strategic and product fit with its existing Doeflex Vinyl and Vitapol PVC businesses. Non-PVC compounding interests include Perrite, Jackdaw, JGP and Silvergate.
