Take over of Belgian speciality polymers distributor Alphamin
Chemicals distributor Brenntag (Mülheim / Germany; www.brenntag.com) has acquired all shares of Alphamin (Wavre / Belgium; www.alphamin.com), a distributor of speciality polymers and waxes. "With its global reach, its product portfolio and expertise, Alphamin is an attractive bolt-on acquisition for Brenntag’s existing speciality chemicals business, strengthening and expanding our existing offer to customers in the Material Science segment," said Karsten Beckmann, Brenntag board member and CEO at Brenntag EMEA. Belgian buy-out fund KeBeK Private Equity has sold Alphamin to the German distributor, with the amount of the transaction not disclosed.

Alphamin's portfolio includes speciality chemicals including polyolefins for the wire and cable industry, polyolefin powders, PVC impact modifiers and adhesion promoters, as well as waxes, titanium dioxide, SBS, TPOs and polyester nonwovens. The Belgian company generated sales of EUR 44.6m in the 2017/2018 financial year ending 30 June, and has a subsidiary, Alphamin Inc. in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey / USA, that was included in the buy.
