TDI capacity to expand in Hungary
Isocyanate producer BorsodChem (Kazincbarcika / Hungary; www.borsodchem-group.com) plans to expand TDI production at its site in Kazincbarcika. The subsidiary of Wanhua Chemical (Yantai, Shandong / China; www.whchem.com/en) is responding to rising global demand for its "T65" and "T100" grades by doubling capacity of its crystallisation unit. T65 and T100 are mainly used in the PU industry for producing flexible foams, coatings and adhesives.

Work on the unit has already begun and commissioning is scheduled for the third quarter of 2018. However, the company did not announce the extent of the capacity expansion. BorsodChem currently has facilities for 300,000 t/y of MDI and 250,000 t/y of TDI at the site.
