As of 1 July 2025, Marvin Strüfing is to take on global responsibility for the Standard Polymers business unit at Biesterfeld (Hamburg, Germany; www.biesterfeld.com), the company announced. He succeeds Jonas Borgsten, who had been managing the business unit on an interim basis.
Strüfing holds a degree in business science and management and brings with him more than ten years of experience in international markets. In previous roles, he served as global senior product manager for ethylene glycols and as head of the Styrene Monomers division, among other positions. Most recently, he was responsible for building the global bioglycol business at UPM Biochemicals in his role as sales director.

Just recently, Biesterfeld reorganised its business structure, transforming what were previously three divisions into seven specialised units.
While the Performance Rubber division remains unchanged, the former Plastic Polymer business has been split into Standard Polymers (polyolefins), Engineered Polymers (engineering polymers such as polyamides, polycarbonate, or POM), Performance Polymers (high-performance plastics, semi-finished and finished parts), and HealthCare (materials for medical technology). The speciality chemicals business has also been divided into the Consumer and Industrial segments.
