German polyetheretherketone (PEEK) materials distributor Bieglo (Hamburg; www.bieglo.com) has received certification of its CoPEEK powder and granules for medical applications. The CoPEEK grade is produced by Panjin Zhongrun High Performance Polymer Co (Panjin, Liaoning / China) and exclusively distributed in Europe by Bieglo. The certification includes standard biocompatibility tests, including skin irritation and cytotoxicity.
