Nonwoven fabrics: Takeover of Corovin
The nonwoven fabric manufacturer Corovin GmbH (HQ: Woltorfer Str. 124, D-31224 Peine) has a new owner. The British BBA Group PLC (5th floor, 70 Fleet Street, GB-London EC4Y 1EU) has bought the Corovin shares from Stoehr & Co AG and the Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale for DEM 92m. Corovin specialises in PP nonwovens and had a turnover of DEM 145m in 1995. The BBA group, with a turnover of about USD 500m in nonwoven fabrics, is the fourth largest manufacturer of nonwoven fabrics in the world. It has several bases in Germany, including the distribution company Fiberweb Deutschland GmbH (Rosenthal 141, D-48683 Ahaus).
