Mito polimeri (www.mitopolimeri.it) has been named a new distribution partner for Bayer MaterialScience (Leverkusen / Germany; www.bayerbms.com) in Italy. The company will take over distribution of the German producer’s high performance plastics from Mercatali and Mida, distribution partners for BMS since the 1970s. The sales portfolio will encompass primarily “Makrolon” PC, “Apec” (PC-HT), “Bayblend” (PC/ABS), “Makroblend” (PC/PBT), “Desmopan” (TPU) and “Texin” (TPU).

BMS said Italy is an attractive market for a range of plastics products in automotive and electronics as well as household goods, sports and leisure products and consumer goods.
The company said the products will continue to be distributed directly in Italy, and that existing distribution partnerships will remain intact. Mito polimeri, which employs 16 people at Tezze di Vazzola and Ancona / Italy and reported sales of EUR 28m in fiscal 2010, is counted among the country’s leading distributors and compounders of technical thermoplastics.
