Anup Kothari new head of Performance Chemicals

Anup Kothari has been named president of the Performance Chemicals division at BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) effective 1 April 2017. Kothari, who first joined US-based BASF Corporation at its headquarters in Mount Olive, New Jersey in 1999, is currently senior vice president, Performance Chemicals North America. He succeeds Christian Fischer, who is leaving the company.
The new Performance Chemicals chief was born in India in 1968. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Roorkee-based Indian Institute of Technology, and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky in the US. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.
