The former Autobar Packaging has been operating under the name of Veriplast Solutions (Saint Priest / France; www.veriplast-solutions.com) since 1 January 2008. The new organisation comprises five divisions: Flexible Solutions (films and free standing pouches), Recycling Solutions (recycled PE film), Decorative Solutions (in-mould labelling), Consumer Packaging Solutions and Food Service Solutions (single-trip packaging).

Veriplast has 15 plants with a total of 2,000 employees in five European countries and annual sales of around EUR 400m. The company has announced what it calls an “ambitious investment plan.” One of its stated goals is to expand its focus on weight-reduced packaging, although it as yet has provided no details.

Autobar Packaging was acquired by private equity investor Sun Capital Partners (Boca Raton, Florida / USA; www.suncappart.com) at the end of 2006 – see Plasteurope.com of 24.11.2006.
