AUDUS NOBLE
Administrator sells tubs and jars businesses to separate companies / Selling prices undisclosed
The PP tubs and PET jars businesses of packaging company Audus Noble (Blyth, Northumberland / UK) have been sold to separate companies for undisclosed sums. The disposals follow from the company being put into administration on 25 May 2006.
Royal Ten Cate (Almelo / Netherlands; www.tencate.com) spin-off of packaging group Plasticum (HQ: Tilburg / The Netherlands; www.tcplasticum.com) has bought the PP tubs operation and has transferred the tools to its Alfreton / UK factory. The open-top containers range in size from 120-1,250 ml and can be fitted with either screw or tamper-evident closures. They are sold to the personal care, confectionery, food and pharmaceutical markets. The acquisition is Plasticum´s first following its management buy-out in April this year and fits with its buy-and-build strategy.
M&H Plastics (Beccles / UK; www.mhplastics.com) has bought the PET jar and Kilner jar ranges. The acquisition closely follows the company´s recent purchase of HPL Jars and Containers. It can now offer a full complement of jars in both PET and PP for the personal care, toiletries and healthcare markets. Supply will start from the Beccles plant at the end of July, and the business will become fully operational during September 2006.
