ATTERO
Dutch waste disposal company building a recycling plant / PE regrind from post-consumer waste
Waste disposal company Attero (Venlo / The Netherlands; www.attero.nl) is investing a total of EUR 25m in building its first recycling plant for plastics from household waste. Construction is scheduled to start in mid-March 2017 on an additional 2,800 m² complex at the company’s Wijster location in The Netherlands. While the company has not disclosed when the facility, with an annual capacity of 24,000 t PE regrind for film, will be coming on stream, it is already advertising for candidates to fill the planned 25 jobs.

Attero collects, cuts up and washes household and industrial waste from a range of different sources. At its Wijster and Groningen sites, the plastics it recycles include PET, PE and PP.

At the same time, the waste processor operates two waste incineration plants which generate electricity and heat for 350,000 households. The Dutch company has also announced that it intends to produce bioplastics from organic waste over the medium term (see Plasteurope.com of 29.08.2013).
