In its eighth year in a row, European Polycarbonate Sheet Extruders (EPSE, Brussels / Belgium; www.epse.org) is once again organising a competition for the best polycarbonate projects. There are 14 candidates for this year’s “EPSE Awards”, each showcasing the unique properties of the engineering thermoplastic. The two-stage voting process will begin with a pre-selected jury, which will pick three of the projects that will then be open to public voting from September onwards. The submissions will be assessed according to three categories: sustainability, innovation and design.

The winners will be announced at this year’s “K” fair in Düsseldorf / Germany on 21 October at the booth of EPSE member Trinseo (hall 6 / E60).

The 14 projects featured this year are ICEHouse, Il Centro Arese shopping centre, Jules Ladoumègue sports complex, Modane swimming pool in the sustainability category; Breathing Skins showroom, Daher airfreight container and Wissous sport hall for innovation; as well as Belfast Waterfront, Cluji multipurpose centre, Knitow Missoni, Palasport for gymnastics and fencing, Parc Olympique Lyonnaise, Ramle swimming pool and the Arieseni-Vârtop / Romania-based Four Season Hotel for design.
