American PA 6.6 resin producer Ascend Performance Materials (Houston, Texas; www.ascendmaterials.com) said it has widened its portfolio of “HiDura” long-chain polyamides by launching several new grades of HiDura PA 610 and 612 for use in automotive fuel systems, brake-line applications, cable ties for solar power systems, battery seals and monofilaments for brush bristles.

Said to have high-dimensional stability and long life with enhanced resistance to chemicals, impact and abrasion, PA 610 and 612 are used in areas where durability under extreme conditions is required. Ascend said customers are responding to broader shifts in the market and their products’ reliability is a key differentiator.
