Colour and additive manufacturer Americhem (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio / USA; www.americhem.com) has acquired Danish compounds and masterbatches producer Controlled Polymers (Ribe; www.conpol.com). It said the acquisition will be integrated with Americhem Engineered Compounds (AEC), expanding its global reach with further products for customers in the medical plastics industry.

Controlled Polymers makes customised compounds and masterbatches for the medical industry, with particular strength in the hearing aid sector. It also supplies polymeric solutions to industries including packaging, consumer goods, electronics, construction and automotive. Mogens Larsen, CEO of Controlled Polymers, said, “We are delighted to join the Americhem family and specifically AEC. Our companies’ customers will continue to experience the same dedicated quality and service as always, but with an expanded global reach and deeper breadth of product offerings.”
