Packaging manufacturer launches stackable PET beverage container

Austrian packaging manufacturer Alpla (Hard; www.alpla.com) and label manufacturer CCL Label (Toronto, Ontario, Canada; www.cclind.com) have developed a stackable PET beverage can with a capacity of 0.33 l. The container features a wraparound design created using a shrink sleeve.
According to the companies, the container can also be made from rPET, allowing it to be integrated into existing bottle-to-bottle recycling loops. A tethered cap makes the container resealable.

CCL Label’s EcoFloat shrink sleeve is used as a decorative element. The low-density polyolefin label is designed to separate reliably from the PET flakes during the recycling process. The sleeve is applied after filling.
