ALLIED SIGNAL PLASTICS
Introduction of nucleated food grade nylon films / Wide temperature range
The full line "Capran" polyamide films of AlliedSignal Plastics, Specialty Films (Runnymede Malthouse, Runnymede Road, GB-Egham TW20 9BO) for food packaging will soon be nucleated for improved performance. "Nucleation during manufacture results in a film which exhibits superior roll conformation and maintains excellent lay flatness," notes AlliedSignal Plastics' John Newson. "Nucleation improves the printability of nylon film, giving a crisper, cleaner look." "Capran" nylon nucleated films offer a unique combination of properties for food packaging. The films provide a good flavour and odour barrier. They resist puncture, abrasion and flex cracking. They are thermoformable, have low permeability to most gases and resist the attack of fats, oils and greases. The films also have an extremely wide operable temperature range, maintain strength at high temperature and resist flex cracks at freezer temperatures.
