ALBIS PLASTIC
Expansion of compounding capacity in China
In the third quarter of 2018, Albis Plastic (Hamburg / Germany; www.albis.com) will expand the compounding capacity of its Chinese plant in Changshu, Jiangsu. Two new extrusion lines will “significantly increase” the local production capabilities, said Hans Rukes, managing director of Albis Plastic Asia Pacific. “We are seeing strong growth opportunities here in China, well above the average market growth.” According to the company, the polymer materials producer is currently represented in a number of core regions and now wants to extend its sphere of action to the north of China.

At the forthcoming trade fair “Chinaplas 2018” (from 22 to 27 April in Shanghai – see Plasteurope.com of 07.03.2018), Albis will for the first time present its portfolio of carbon fibres based on recycled feedstock. These were developed after it acquired the German company Wipag (Neuburg; www.wipag.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 09.10.2017.

Albis Plastic operates globally in the distribution and compounding of engineering thermoplastics and TPE. In addition to its distribution services, the company offers its own product range of high-performance plastics, compounding solutions and masterbatches. In fiscal year 2016, the group with 1,200 employees generated a global turnover of EUR 903m.
