Expansion in Germany / Closure and packaging technologies firm invests EUR 18m
Coatings and sealants specialist Actega DS (Bremen / Germany; www.actega.com/ds) plans to invest around EUR 18m over the next two years into the expansion of its site in Bremen. The production and storage area will be increased by 8,000 m², capacity will rise by 50% and the research and development area will receive a massive overhaul. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2018.

"“We are making extensive investments to extend our production, storage, research and development capacities in order expand our site as an innovation centre," says managing director Wilfried Lassek. With the help of the aforementioned technologies, Actega will continue to develop closure and packaging solutions for the food and beverage industry. In addition, the company plans to offer tailor-made plastic granules for medical technology and consumer goods.

Having been part of the German speciality chemicals group Altana for more than 20 years, Actega currently employs 150 people in Bremen. The company produces 150 t of granulate per day, and exports to more than 100 countries.
