Bayer MaterialScience (Leverkusen / Germany; www.bayermaterialscience.com) has launched three new weather-resistant resins designed to stand up to prolonged outdoor exposure while maintaining their mechanical properties and appearance. They are suitable for use in lawn, garden, automotive and agriculture applications. “Bayblend” W90 XG is an opaque, very high flow UV-stabilised PC/acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) resin formulated for injection moulding parts that require good surface appearance and weather resistance. Bayblend W100 XG, is designed for outdoor applications requiring high heat resistance, while Bayer recommends “Makroblend” WT203 PC/polyester resins for applications requiring weather resistance, chemical resistance, high impact strength, high heat resistance and high flow.

All three resins can be injection moulded or co-injection moulded over a substrate material.
