Ineos Polyolefins (Lyndhurst / UK; www.ineospolyolefins.com) has launched a range of LDPE grades designed to meet exacting and long-term medical and pharmaceutical packaging requirements. “EltexMED” grades are designed for the blow-fill-seal technology used in pharmaceutical liquid packaging for applications such as IV fluid bottles and single-dose ampoules, where respiratory and ophthalmic solutions are steam treated at temperatures up to 110 °C.

Performance characteristics of EltexMED also are said to meet the requirements of injection moulded packaging sterilised by ethylene oxide or irradiation at up to 35kGy.
