PLASTIC FANTASTIC
Mountain or molehill?
As this is a space for the like-minded, please let us be brutally honest: the hype surrounding chemical – or molecular – recycling is really getting on our nerves.

In fact, we can barely stand hearing about it sometimes. Every day we get new reports that some company somewhere in the world is investing millions in this “advanced” technology. Every day a different CEO pats himself on the back.

To be honest, these reports of triumph have become boring. Please remember: the amounts of recyclate created have so far been of homoeopathic strength, and the only ones who are really happy that the technology is experiencing a revival are electricity suppliers, whose meters spin even faster with so much energy consumption. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill…
