Ravago Americas, US holding of Belgian compounder and distributor Ravago (Arendonk; www.ravago.com), has acquired compounder Polymer Technology & Services (PTS, Murfreesboro, Tennessee / USA; www.ptsllc.com), a specialist in flame-retardant polymers – see Plasteurope.com of 10.11.2016. Financial terms were not disclosed. The business is to be integrated into Ravago’s North American distribution company Amco Polymers (Orlando, Florida / USA; www.amcopolymers.com) over the course of 2018. Kevin Wettstein, vice president and general manager of Amco Polymers, said PTS’ presence in key markets along with its highly engineered product line will "create significant opportunities for our business."

The Ravago group’s portfolio includes commodities and engineering thermoplastics, colour masterbatches and additives, custom compounds and eco-friendly bioplastics. By its own account, the company with 5,550 employees worldwide supplies more than 4m t of plastics annually to 40,000 customers in more than 55 countries. It operates 30 production sites, including 19 dedicated to material recycling and compounding with a throughput capacity of 500,000 t/y. Its 11 additional sites supply finished plastics products to the construction sector.
