Airbus order worth over half a billion euros / Interior fittings for the "A320" aircraft
A large proportion of the interior fittings for the new "Airspace " cabin in the Airbus "A320" model will be supplied by composites specialist FACC (Ried / Austria; www.facc.com). The two companies recently signed a contract for the supply of luggage racks and ceiling panels worth around EUR 500m. The first components are to be delivered to the aircraft manufacturer at the end of 2018.

The Airspace cabin presented by Airbus at the "Paris Air Show" in June 2017 is said to offer, among other things, more stowage space for luggage. For this purpose, FACC is developing the so-called "Airspace XL Bins", which, according to Airbus, are the biggest overhead luggage bins for short- and medium-haul aircraft.

FACC has been supplying interior components to Airbus since 2001, including the now fourth-generation luggage bin for the A320 family. To date, it has received orders for over 5,000 aircraft.
