K 2016
Sunny Sunday sees slight dip in visitor numbers / Respite from record pace of preceding days

For the first time this year, the visitor numbers for “K 2016” saw a decline over the previous edition, held in 2013. On Sunday, a total of 18,000 people came to the Düsseldorf fairgrounds – some 1,000 less than did so three years ago. Although the decline puts an end to the record attendance of the preceding days, in terms of visitor total, K 2016 is still more popular among visitors than its 2013 counterpart.
The fall could easily have been the result of the blue skies that graced Düsseldorf on Sunday, which may have induced a number of international visitors to use the break from the rain to catch up on their sightseeing schedules. The packed exhibitor party the night before may also have claimed one victim or another. After five full days of “K time”, the going got a little slower on Sunday, even if the customary souvenir-hunters were out in full force.
