EXXONMOBIL / SABIC
Petrochemical giants examine the building of a joint complex in the US
The two global corporations Sabic (Riyadh / Saudi Arabia; www.sabic.com) and ExxonMobil (Houston, Texas / USA; www.exxonmobil.com) are currently checking out the possibility of jointly building a new petrochemical complex on the US Gulf Coast. The project will be built either in Texas or Louisiana near gas fields, and will have a very large steam cracker and corresponding downstream facilities. At present, preliminary studies are being carried out and talks held with state and local departments in order to prepare for the final decision.

ExxonMobil and Sabic have been working together in JVs in Saudi-Arabia for 35 years, including Kemya in Al Jubail and Yanpet in Yanbu.
