Acquisition of Spanish rubber compounder Vigar for EUR 19m
Swedish compounding group Hexpol (Malmö; www.hexpol.com) is to acquire the Vigar Rubber Compounding business of family-owned Grupo Vigar (Rubi, Barcelona / Spain; www.vigar-sa.es) for EUR 19m. Vigar Rubber operates manufacturing facilities in Rubi and Viersen / Germany and had a turnover of EUR 57m in 2013. It has 134 employees.
Hexpol said the acquisition complements its compounding activities in Europe and broadens and strengthens its presence in rubber compounds in the Spanish and German markets. The acquisition is expected to be concluded by the end of 2014.
