The entire range of fibre-reinforced plastics will be on display at the upcoming “Composites Europe” (www.composites-europe.com) trade fair, held in Düsseldorf / Germany from 7-9 October. More than 400 exhibitors from 25 different countries have already signed up as exhibitors, reports organiser Reed Exhibitions Deutschland (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.reedexpo.de). In its ninth edition, the fair is expected to attract about 10,000 visitors.
Key features of this year’s event include the special “Industry meets Science” area, showcasing traditional thermoset materials and thermoplastic composites as well as innovative matrices like polyurethane and thermoplastics polymerising. The area will include a Product Demonstration Area where companies will give live demonstrations on high-tech products and composite components.
Another new feature at the 2014 event is the “Bio-based Pavilion”, where a range of biocomposite materials such as wood flour, cotton, flax, jute and hemp will be showcased. The pavilion will demonstrate the advantages and potential of biofibres, including wood plastic composites (WPC).
Aside from these two special interest area, the fair will also include the “Composites Forum” lecture programme, where a range of industry experts will be presenting on production technology in composite manufacturing. The three-day fair will kick off with the “International AVK Conference”, named after co-organiser the German Federation of Reinforced Plastics (AVK, Frankfurt / Germany; www.avk-tv.de), and is held at the same time as the “Aluminium” fair (www.aluminium-messe.com).
