Beverage packaging equipment supplier Sidel (Le Havre / France; www.sidel.com) plans two regional headquarter openings in the coming months: a German one based in Frankfurt serving customers in Europe and Central Asia, and a second, based in Dubai, to service the Middle East and Africa. Both offices are scheduled to be fully operational by September 2013.

According to Peter Logan, Sidel’s executive vice president for market operations, “Dubai is the perfect match for Sidel with its excellent communication and transport links and basing our other regional office in Frankfurt puts us on the doorstep of many of our largest customers in Europe." He went on to add that by bringing logistics, servicing, training, order processing and regional co-ordination under one roof at these new locations, Sidel will be better able to focus on providing highly customised solutions.

Sidel has also announced the establishment of a new company, Gebo Cermex (Mundolsheim / France; www.gebocermex.com), uniting the Gebo conveying and material handling brand with Cermex, specialist in secondary packaging and end-of-line equipment. The new company focuses on engineering, line integration and end-of-line packaging services across a range of industries and is the exclusive key partner of Sidel for PET lines.
