LYONDELLBASELL
Chapter 11 exited on 30 April as planned
Polyolefins giant LyondellBasell (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.lyondellbasell.com) emerged from US Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings on 30 April, 16 months after applying for protection from creditors in January 2009. Prior to pursuit of an initial public offering, the group is applying to list its class A and B ordinary shares and warrants to purchase class A ordinary shares on the New York Stock Exchange.

LyondellBasell claims to be the world's third-largest independent chemical company with 2009 sales of USD 30.8 bn. Its reorganisation plan was confirmed by a New York bankruptcy court on 23 April – see Plasteurope.com of 27.04.2010.
