CFR thermoplastic pellets to be demonstrated at “Fakuma” 2014
Automotive industry plastics recycling specialist Wipag (Neuburg / Germany; www.en.wipag.de) has developed carbon fibre reinforced thermoplastic pellets that can be used in injection moulding. The company said that it can produce the pellets cost effectively as it uses secondary carbon fibres. The material, PA6 CF40, has a density of 1.34 g/cm³, an elasticity modulus of 25,000 MPa, tensile strength of 200 MPa and impact resistance of 90 KJ/m².

The development will be presented at the “Fakuma” 2014 plastics processing trade fair from 14 to 18 October in Friedrichshafen / Germany (www.fakuma-messe.de).
