VERDEZYNE
Exclusive distribution deal with Will & Co for bio-based DDDA in Europe / PA 6.12 feedstock plant expected to start up in 2017
Verdezyne (Carlsbad, California / USA; www.verdezyne.com) has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Will & Co (Badhoevedorp / The Netherlands; www.will-co.nl), under the terms of which the latter will start marketing its “Biolon” bio-based dodecanedioic acid (DDDA) in Europe. The US group will start manufacturing the feedstock – used among others as a basis for bio-based PA 6.12 – at a 10,000 t/y plant located in Malaysia and due to start up in 2017 – see Plasteurope.com of 14.05.2014.

The distribution deal secures the off-take of more than 25% of the plant’s capacity, Verdezyne said, with CEO William Radany adding that, “Having forged this mutually beneficial distribution partnership for a significant portion of our production capacity, we are even more excited to start producing ‘Biolon’ DDDA as soon as possible.”
