US RECYCLING
SPI partners engineers for plastics recycling exhibition / SPE to develop content and promote to membership
The Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI, Washington DC / USA; www.plasticsindustry.org) has signed a three-year agreement with the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE, Bethel, Connecticut / USA; www.4spe.org) and its plastics environmental division (PED) to co-promote and develop technical information for next year’s "Re|focus Recycling Summit & Expo".
SPE and PED will provide educational content and materials for recyclers and engineers. In addition, SPE will co-promote the event to its members and beyond.
SPI president and CEO William Carteaux commented: “Building on our successful relationship with SPE, the agreement will benefit the plastics industry by adding new dimensions and valuable content to an event that fulfils an unmet niche in the recycling conference market. Re|focus offers a fresh approach to the sustainability challenges that have slowed the recycling of plastic products and materials.”
He added: “We look forward to building these types of partnerships with other organisations representing different segments of the plastics supply chain so we can deliver a comprehensive programme that addresses the challenges that exist in driving manufacturing in a more sustainable direction.”
Re|focus will take place on 25-27 April 2016 in Orlando, Florida. All funds generated from the event will be reinvested into the industry’s recovery and sustainability efforts.
Registration will open later in the summer and discounts will be available for members of SPI and official partner organisations. SPI also runs the leading North American plastics trade show "NPE".
